as the one before me said, different mixtures take different time to dry, but almost all of them are workable for sculpture in 36 hours. they're mostly dried out in 48 hours. curing can take several months. I worked a summer in cement/concrete/ceramic sculpture with an emphasis in cement, so do send me a follow-up with more details.

Depends on what kind of cement, if its concrete, how much lime or portland cement, etc etc. There are a multitude of different mixes, some have polymers added, depends on what the cement is used for.

Drying and Curing are two different terms fyi. Often you can get cement that dries in 24 hours, but it wont be cured iirc. Like Qikrete, you can touch it lightly at like 12 hours, but not walk on it. At 24 you can walk on it CAREFULLY, it can still scuff and scratch. Curing takes longer I believe, like several days.

You can also get cement that cures faster, but it isn't the best for all jobs, depends on what you need to do really.
