RespectLifexo answered Saturday June 6 2009, 7:33 pm: Hello,
I'm punjabi, and i'm from India, so i understand your problem. My family also has problems with castes so i understand what you are going through. This is a tense situation because your parents are used to these traditions and if you break them, they would be upset. All i could tell you is to follow your heart. If you love him, and know he is the one, you have to fight for your rights to marry him. Yes your parents will be very angry, and they may not talk to you after, but you have to decide what you want. You need to make your parents understand that he is a good guy even though he is in another caste. Indian parents are very stubborn, i know, i deal with them. You just have to make your parents understand, that is all you can do. Somehow you need to convince them to look past the caste systems. IF you have any more questions, you can post a question into my inbox. Good luck with everything, i know you will make the right decision.
