Cepacol cough drops are amazing.

Ice cream !

Tea with honey soothes your throat. Make some nice hot tea and put lots of honey in it. Sip it slowly.

Get lots of rest and ...

Feel better!!

Try Cepacol cough drops. They have an anesthetic in them that numbs your throat, which really helps.

Try avoiding hard foods, too. I like to eat sherbet when I have a sore throat, because it goes down easy and it feels good.

Good luck!

Gargle with warm salt water. It is the best and safest method to relieve a sore throat. Also drink lots of cool water to stay hydrated and use a humidifier at night. Throat drops or even hard candy are temporary but keep the throat from drying out. Gargle with the warm salt water a couple times a day.

I don't know what happened with the NyQuil to cause you events, but chloraseptic spray is very good on numbing sore throats. But be sure you check it out before you use it. If an ingredient in NyQuil caused you problems, you don't want to get anything that has that ingredient.
I'm not sure what is in either one, but your family pharmacist can tell you if it would be safe for you to take. Always ask your pharmacist if you have questions concerning any medicine- that is their job.
