Try avoiding hard foods, too. I like to eat sherbet when I have a sore throat, because it goes down easy and it feels good.

Also drink lots of cool water to stay hydrated and use a humidifier at night. Throat drops or even hard candy are temporary but keep the throat from drying out. Gargle with the warm salt water a couple times a day. [ BitsandPieces's advice column | Ask BitsandPieces A Question ]

But be sure you check it out before you use it. If an ingredient in NyQuil caused you problems, you don't want to get anything that has that ingredient.
I'm not sure what is in either one, but your family pharmacist can tell you if it would be safe for you to take. Always ask your pharmacist if you have questions concerning any medicine- that is their job. [ Brandi_S's advice column | Ask Brandi_S A Question ]
