Well,on a trampoline, u can get the hang of the form for a backhandspring. But doing it on a trampoline and on the floor are two seperate things because you have to jump so much more.

Here are some tips for a bakchandspring on floor:
-dont swing your arms too much before you throw it
-when going back, keep your head in. dont throw throw your head back <-must =]
-keep your legs together
-stretch your arms straight back
-sqeeze your stomach and legs
-stretch back
-have confidence
-keep your arms by your ears
-bend your legs so you can get the power to push yourself

Hope it Helped! i had a tough time too, but practicing will improve your technique.
First start off with a trampoline. then move to a Cheese mat. on a cheesemat, start at the top first then go down the slope till you hit the floor. then you got it !

you should be spotted when you're learning to do a backhandspring, if you try it by yourself without knowing what to do, you can get very hurt. i suggest going to an open gym at at gymnastics place. or ask a cheer coach to help you. trampolines aren't always easier when it comes to backhandsprings
