making a formula (physics) im making a physic formula, and i know you're not allowed to give homework help, but maybe you could just get me started? cause i really don't knwo what to do AT ALL. We're supposed to make a formula that explains how L depends on h. ok? And L is the distance a marble falls from an inclinded plane, and h is teh height of the inclined plane. Now the thing is, my teacher said the formula should be something like this L = ... the square route of h. the question is : what are the ...'s? we weren given anything! all we did was measure L for different h's (like where on the inclined plane we'd put the marble) and we wrote down the results.. but that doesnt help me at all-. i cant make a formula of that! how could anyone? and i know for a fact L = sq. of time. BUT WE DIDNT GET A STOPWACH to take the time. So he's given me nothing to work with! and im so frustrated cause i dont understand how im suppose dto do anything!

If you know that L = t^2 (t squared) and you have L values, couldn't you then figure out the value of t?
I'm not sure about the other part, or that I completely understand the question. But that would be my guess for finding time without a stop watch, and I would *guess* that's what your teacher is looking for as well.
Sorry if that's not helpful though. ]
