Hey. Before you get your period your egg comes out and for it to have a "soft landing" lets say the tissue in your uterist builds up. Your period comes when that extra tissue comes out because once the egg is out there is no use for it anymore. The contracting of blood is what causes you to have cramps. Try taking warm baths and using heating pads, also take motrin or midol ( i take motrin and with menstrual symptoms, your doctor may let you take up to four tablets) hope I helped

I haven't been able to find an actual source saying what these stretches are. I actually heard it from my health teacher in high school. I've tried it before and I've found that groin stretches work the best. Any kind of pelvic stretches should be helpful. :)
Think of it this way. Lets say you don't use your legs for three weeks. You sit in a wheelchair or something and don't walk anywhere. You don't move your legs at all. Then, suddenly you spring up from your chair and run a marathon. Your legs are going to hurt a LOT! Basically, this is what happens when you have your period. There are muscles in your body that are only being used for menstruation. When you're not menstruating, they just sit there and tighten up. When menstruation starts, they have to spring into action and work really hard to get things done. Other than taking pain killers, there are certain stretches you can do to help with cramps. Having a good diet and exercising can reduce them too. Talk it over with a doctor and you might be able to find a way to eliminate them entirely. :) ]
It is normal to get a lot of cramps during your period. Heres an amazing website that will tell you all about it: www.beinggirl.com
To get rid of the cramps, you could take midol or advil. Also, heating pads work great! If you don't want to do that, excersize! Go for a walk or run. Hope I helped! ]
