Yes, a dieting question. :o

13/F. 4'8'/93 lbs



Hi Everyone. :)

I was just wondering if anyone had some good tips, and/or facts on losing weight. Just a bit of warning in advance.. I've got a problem with snacking constantly. I always end up trying diets, but I give up after a short amount of time, because I end up giving myself some kind of excuse to start eating junk foods again. I seriously have very bad will power, so if anyone could focus on helping me with that, that'd be great.

Also, I can't buy diet pills, special foods, or do things like go running/go to the gym for specific reasons. So are there any exercises I'd be able to do without equipment, which would be effective for weight loss?

I'm honestly not even sure how much weight I should lose. I've just kind of got a bad body image. :/

right its alot easier then you think i used to be a full on snaker lol . just put your unhealthly foods in hard to reach places and the healthy ones in easy to reach places that way wenever your hungry you go for th ehealthy option use the negative calorie diet eg something like a carrot may contain 20 calories a cake may contain 20 aswel the cake takes 5 calories to digest the carrot takes 100 that way your loosing weight here are some food from the negative calorie diet im sure youll have them

Vegetables:carrots,broccoli,beets,cucumber,chili peppers,chicory,celery,endives,lettuce,cabbage,green beans, garlic, asparagus,turnip, spinich, radish, onion,zuccini,and bean sprouts.

Fruits:oranges, apples, strawberry, watermelon, raspberry,pineapple, peach,blueberry, cranberry,cantaloupe,grapefruit,honeydew melon, lemons, lime and mango.

HAhahahaha it sounds like me i have a bad snack habit as well. I have a soda habit and junk food habit but i wanted to lose weight because i didnt like who i was. So my mom (shes a nurse) told me all i had to do was eat serving sizes. So i went from drinking code red and pepsi to diet md and diet pepsi which isnt that bad and serving sizes. It might sound stupid but it all depends on how bad you wana lose weight because eating serving sizes and drinking diet soda works GREAT. i used to weight 195 wearing size 16 almost 17 pants i now can fit into a 10 and this all happend in 2 months. But i also did crunches every day but stopped after a while so that i dont think really had an impact. Well i hope iv helped a little write back id love to kow how it turned out.

Dear Reader,
Well, when I was your age, I was around the same height as you were and weighed just as much if not a pound more. But seriously, if you want to loose weight, here are some ways that you can. (Although I dont think you need to be loosing them)
a.you can still eat the same amounts of food you eat, just make sure you work it off. You said that you cant go to the gym. Well, try for every bag of chip, or candy bar, or bottle of soda, take a good 20 minute walk to burn off the calories you packed on.
b.another way to eat as much as you do now and not gain as much weight, when having lunch or dinner, have small morsoles at a time but eat more. Like, instead of having one huge lunch, try a half of the lunch, then after school have a soft pretzle. And instead of having a huge dinner at 6, have a small snack at 4 and then a small dinner at 6.
c. STAY AWAY FROM FATTY FOODS. and if you cant, try, but if you REALLY cant, work it off. Like i said, walking REALLY helps.
d. DO NOT GO ON DIET PILLS, DRINKS OR ANY OF THOSE SORTS. You are wayyyyy too young and I can guarantee you that if you start taking those things- 98% that you'll start having heart problems and blood issues and what not. ITS JUST NOT HEALTHY. DIET THE HEALTHY WAY! Eat lots of veggies! And water!
e. And last, try not to go too hard on yourself! You're still young, and really, I dont think that your fat! Do you think you have a good body? Or are your peers saying that you have a BAD body? Ask yourself that, and then ask "is it safe to loose all this weight at such a young age just because someone called me fat?" If this is coming from your peers, its called PEER PRESURE, deal with it and get over it! You are so much better then that. WHo cares if people think your fat? WHo cares what other people think!!?!?!?!? Its what you think that matters, and if you're happy with the way you are then dont even think of the "d" word.
Really, think twice before you diet. I think you should talk to your parents about it. The side effects can be majorly ugly. Let me know how things turn out. And Good Luck!

your bmi (body mass index) is 20.847
the average bmi for a 13 year old is 15.5-22.8
technically don't need to loose weight. but if you are hellbent dentermined. there are three things.
1. water. drink 8 glasses of water a day. soda's & fruit drinks are full of sugar.
2. follow the food pyramid. eat fruits & veggies. a little bit of protien with each meal. & some carbs. carbs give you energy. protien helps build muscle. to help remind you & encourage to follow the food pyramid, draw or print out a picture of the food pyramid & put it on your fridge so it will remind you.
3. get atleast 30 minutes of excersise every day. if you don't excersise then there is no way you are going to loose weight. even if you just do jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups or run in place during commercials while you are watching tv.
