My best friend is going head over heels for this guy, and it's really annoying that she just cant come up to him and talk to him, and I dont want to lose her as a friend if she does ever go out with him.

Just be happy for your friend and it's kk that she doesn't feel comfortable talking to this guy, she'll be ready soon, and if you said that she is you BEST friend you wont lose her as you friend.
