If you think you have a yeast infection & you get medications for it, it can mess with you if you really don't have one. So just make sure you see a doctor. - Itching/burning sensations inside
- Burning sensation when you to go the loo
- Pain or discomfort during or after sex
- Discharge that produces a yeasty-smelling odour
- Discharge that is of a cottage-cheese like texture and a whitish-grey colour.
It can be caused by anything from poor hygiene to the use of antibiotics, which can destroy good bacteria in the body, as well as bad bacteria, causing a fungal infection such as a yeast infection to occur.
The best thing to do really is to see your doctor to confirm it is a yeast infection and not anything else. However, if you are certain it is a yeast infection, take a trip to your local pharmacy and pick up some medicine. Although you can obtain creams and so on, the best method of treatment is usually an oral capsule, as this ensures all yeast infections are removed from inside your body, which gives it less of a chance to reoccur.
If you don't visit your doctor, do ensure that if your symptoms don't disappear after treatment or if they come back, you speak to someone about this. Problems with the reproductive system should never be ignored. [ Vikki27's advice column | Ask Vikki27 A Question ]
