I love acting, drama, and getting the moods. I love placing myself in the position of a chracter. But I cannot remember my lines! I freeze, I switch words, I mispronounce, I totally screw up! What one earth is wrong with me and what are some ways besides just reading them more... That doesn't help. I've even tried learning them as song lyrics... that doesn't help. I'm so doomed!
But while I was in theatre, and actually taking it as a class for credit - I learned things that do kind of help.
Think about the most recent cd you've purchased.
Sure, maybe you knew a few of the songs on it - but what about the ones you didn't?
A few days/weeks later, you realize you know EVERY SINGLE word to EVERY SINGLE song.
How does that happen?
Listening to it over and over again, seeing it, hearing it.
My suggestion to you? Write your lines down. Take a pencil and some paper and just write them down. Hell, you can even type it if you want - but writing it down yourself is easier.
And don't just do it once! Do it over and over and over.
And pretty soon your lines will be just like those songs you didn't know before.
