Hello,
i am an average, typical, plain old cheerio in the box teenager, BUT my friends think i have a few ODD qualities that i find quite normal.
1. I am in LOVE with star trek, i am part of the Spock fan club (t-shirt and all) and i have every season, video, DVD's (with 120 min. of deleted scenes and bonus features and commentaries)
2. My favorite singer is Clay Aiken. i am in the fan club as well and i have 2 shirts tahts say i am a Clay Mate and i am currently going to the concert on December 16th with my mom. and i just say hat Kelly ripa has NO right whats so ever to sue clay, i mean he was just voicing his opinion. He was a GUEST so HE was aloud to SPEAK. I MEAN COME ON! He is soo cute ow could you sue that beautiful face!
(my friends always make fun of me for that) + my ring tone i clay Aiken and my phone went off in class and everyone made fun of me. i mean he is an excellent singer and i think everyone should love clay.
3.i am absolutely in love with Chinese Anime. They have such creativity and i love to duplicate the drawings. don't understand why everyone thinks thats weird. i mean sponge bob is the weirdest thing i have EVER seen. Its a fricken talking sponge and his stupid friend who is a star fish! WHO THE HELL LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA!!!!!!!! whatever the are missing out on excellent cartoonist at their bes abilities.
4. People at lunch don't exactly find my food appetizing. I start off by removing my retainer and washing it out with my moist wash cloth, then i eat cabbage and broccoli stew which has a GREAT taste (gotta try it) then i have pb&j with choco choco milk!! so good. Then for dessert i have cherry apple pie.
I hope you can help me by giving me advice on why this is weird and how i can break the addiction!!
Just so you know, everyone has there own "odd" qualities, that's what makes everyone an individual. People who say you're strange are being hypocrites because chances are, they're covering up for something. Anyway:
1) I don't know Star Trek, but I have the same thing with the show Friends. I have all the games and the dvds and I watch at least 6 episodes every weekday and probably more on weekends since I have more time. That doesn't mean you're weird if you have a strong passion for something, so don't listen. If it makes you feel very uncomfortable, then make it a private and personal hobby you have and keep it to yourself.
2) I love Clay Aiken as well (by the way, I'm jealous you're going to the concert, because I can't!). Don't worry about people making fun of you. It's probably only because it's the whole possibility of him being gay that's making it awkward but once it blows over, it'll be better. But you know, you should just ignore people. Next time they laugh at your ringtone, just laugh it off and say "Yeah well I really don't care." and leave it at that.
3) I personally like Spongebob, and I don't care that you don't, don't worry I'm not offended, but I don't really know much about Chinese Anime either. But again, you can keep it private and personal if you want to.
4) I always have pb&j with chocolate milk, so that isn't weird. Cherry Apple Pie is pretty normal too. I never heard of the stew, but hey, it's a free country and you should be able to eat whatever you want.
Let your friends know that they're supposed to be your friends and be supportive of you because if they make fun of you, then maybe they aren't true. But otherwise, you're not weird, you just have different interests than others.
