I like him, but...

Well, i started at a new private highschool this year and i've met alot of new people. In this pool of new people, there's one i think about all the time: We'll call him John.
So, i just met him this year and he's kinda quiet and shy around people he doesn't know well. But he does have a lot of friends and he's well known throughout the grade because he is just so cute. Some girls go right up to him and tell him he looks like a cute lil teddybear and how adorable he is. He just kinda shrugs it off and smiles a little. Of course, I've never dared to do this.
But anyways, back to the point. I really really like him. He's in 4 of my classes, and at my new school we have three classes a day and on one day i have all three classes with him. So we've become friends and can talk to eachother comfortably in school and sometimes out of school. Now, it used to be me starting all the conversations- but i've noticed lately he's been starting them too. On a certain day when i have spanish then modern history, we always walk with eachother from the 3rd floor down to the first. I try to hint that i like him, i smile alot and make eyecontact. The only signs i've been getting back are a few times i've caught him looking at me, and he walks with me to some of our classes, and we usually end up next to eachother when we're leaving one of our classes to go to the next. I dont know if its just coincidence, or if he's doing it, because i of course am also kind of shy and wont take the initiative to stay back a bit for fear that it will seem too obvious. ( although i do do this sometimes)

But we talk at least once a day and we joke around with eachother and he makes me laugh alot. I know i like him alot...but do you think he likes me back? Thanks for your help!

well, I don't actually know either of you, but you've provided plenty of background information. In this case, I'd say yes, he probably does like you, since he's been taking the initiative to talk to you, walks with you to classes, and makes eye contact (not always a sure sign, but this kid's shy? Eye contact=not easy. Even for confident people).
So as for what to do? Do whatever feels natural. Ask if he wants to get together outside of school sometime. Movies, studying together at the library? Popcorn and DVDs at your house? Good multitasking here; he'll meet your parents in a more relaxed atmosphere than, say, "Mom? Dad? This is the guy I've been dating for three weeks that I forgot to tell you about".. you get the idea =P
