Unsure if he likes me back?

Well, i started at a new private highschool this year and i've met alot of new people. In this pool of new people, there's one i think about all the time: We'll call him John.
So, i just met him this year and he's kinda quiet and shy around people he doesn't know well. But he does have a lot of friends and he's well known throughout the grade because he is just so cute. Some girls go right up to him and tell him he looks like a cute lil teddybear and how adorable he is. He just kinda shrugs it off and smiles a little. Of course, I've never dared to do this.
But anyways, back to the point. I really really like him. He's in 4 of my classes, and at my new school we have three classes a day and on one day i have all three classes with him. So we've become friends and can talk to eachother comfortably in school and sometimes out of school. Now, it used to be me starting all the conversations- but i've noticed lately he's been starting them too. On a certain day when i have spanish then modern history, we always walk with eachother from the 3rd floor down to the first. I try to hint that i like him, i smile alot and make eyecontact. The only signs i've been getting back are a few times i've caught him looking at me, and he walks with me to some of our classes, and we usually end up next to eachother when we're leaving one of our classes to go to the next. I dont know if its just coincidence, or if he's doing it, because i of course am also kind of shy and wont take the initiative to stay back a bit for fear that it will seem too obvious. ( although i do do this sometimes)

But we talk at least once a day and we joke around with eachother and he makes me laugh alot. I know i like him alot...but do you think he likes me back? Thanks for your help!

actually i do think he likes you...ust remember that boys show their emotions VERY differently than girls do..guys get nervous around us..i mean we do to but they get EXTREMELY nervous..when you walk with him try and figure out how he moves along side you..if he walks a little stiff or if your looking at him he usually isnt looking in your eyes..those are KEY signs that he does..along with many more...its really good that hes taking the nitiative to start convorsations with you though..see if u can start hanging out with him after school..like just say simething simple and easy such as "we shopuld hang out sometime""it would be fun(:" i hope i helped you..GoodLuck and have fun :D

Hmm it's different for every guy.
He could like you in that way or maybe he just thinks of you as a friend?
Who knows.
But I mean if he does give you a lot of 'eye contact' and a lot of 'smiling'..
Then that definetly could be a sign that he likes you.
This is usually how a guy shows that he likes you, and since he laughs and smiles..
He must be pretty confortable around you too; Which is a really good thing.
But to what I've been hearing of what you have told me, it seems he just might like you..
And if you're even more curious about it just be confident and ask him about..
Or if you're not ready, just drop hints and see what happens, maybe he'll make a move.
