Both are stylish sedans and roughly same amount of power and gas efficently in each. I would choose Chevy though because parts would be much easier to get and probably cheaper cause you wont have to deal with shipping charges and things like that. Also theres Chevy dealerships are everywhere and you would have a good selection and good price on it. You can also look at Chevy Cavaliers which seem to be pretty ok cars but everyone practically has. Cobalt and Impalas are also another possible suggestion from Chevy. Hope I helped.
orphans answered Tuesday October 31 2006, 2:34 pm: i would honestly go for the malibu. people like to give chevy's shit and say they're bad cars. but the fact of the matter is i see less chevy's roll into the shop than i see toyotas. also the chevy would be cheaper in the long run. a new camry starts at 18,270. whereas the new malibu starts at 17,710. it's a good thousand bucks cheaper at the beginning. throw in the fact that most chevrolet dealerships are always offering special financing and discounts and you'll likely save money on the malibu and be able to buy some other cool shit with the money you save.
people like to say that the malibu gets worse gas mileage, but they both get over 30 miles a gallon which is the current benchmark for most new cars. and really is plenty of money saving. the camry does get better fuel efficiency. the camry does have more horsepower on the four cylinder but will cost you 19,000 to get it with the automatic transmission as the base model comes with a five speed manual transmission (stick shift) so basically you're paying more money for the same car chevy gives you for less. i say go for the chevrolet. you'll be glad you did.
