carpal tunnel or something else?

Question Posted Thursday October 26 2006, 7:36 pm

I think I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). From the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke website ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) They explain the symptoms of the conditions, and I don't get ALL of them but most. Here is what I am getting:

*Tingling/burning sensations in my fingers and palm
*The feeling of "shaking it off" every single morning, and sometimes at night.
*The inability to Handle certain small objects, and simple tasks such as opening a door,
*Sometimes it gets a little swollen but not often (usually it rarely ever happens).

SO in YOUR OPINION, do you think I have this condition? I experience the symptoms and people tell me I have it. I'm still not sure though..

And if you think I do, what are some AT HOME treatments/tips to treat this condition **AND** how to get my parents to take me to the Doctor's if it's that serious.

I really do not know what to do. I need the advice from a Doctor or some health professional. However, I am sure a lot of your aren't either of them.

Thanks in advance!

Well. Those symptoms are put on that website so that you can self-diagnose yourself. If you feel that its serious enough to get looked at (which it sounds like it is) I think you should. Plus, it could be something more serious that you're unaware of. Just to be safe, tell your parents that you looked up the symptoms online and you really want to get it looked at. Tell them how often it occurs and what exactly the pain is, and then go to a doctor & tell them the same thing. :)
