Question Posted Wednesday October 25 2006, 1:51 am
ok so heres how it goes with my familyy..
*no cell fones until you REALLY REALLY need it(does high school ring a bell?)
*NO makeupp (only lipglosss..which doesnt count)
*no dating(even tho i have had like 2 boyfriends)
it totally stinkss.
i dont know if this is something that you can give advice to but i just wanted someone to hear me complain.
what would you do if your parents had these rules?
i've tried a couple of stradegies but ABOSUELT NOTHINGG works!
But to answer your question my parents have the exact same rules. Except I dont have a cellphone because they dont want to pay for it, I have to get a job haha. Not everyone has a cellphone =[ some parents dont want their kids to have one and some just flat out cant afford it. For now just borrow from a friend when you need a phone outside your house.
As far as make up goes[this sounds bad but if your in highschool/8th grade] go to school and put it on, then before you go home take it off. My friends do it all the time. Some peoples parents arent open to having their daughters wear make-up since its seen as a way to attract boys etc. but if your a teenager [14 or so] I would say go ahead and do it[you asked what *I* would do].....dont go over board though ;] dont pile it on.
As for boys, you can have a boyfriend and not actually go out on DATES. Have you asked them about having a school boyfriend? Or going on group dates? That might make your parents feel a bit better about having their daughter be with a boy =P I'm still not allowed to date alone until I'm 16 which is another year, so dont feel way left out.
If you get really frustrated with your parents just know that they are trying their best to be good to you and have great intentions....it might not seem fair to you now but it might later you never know ^^
