I'm sorry to hear what's happened with you and your friend. But when guys are involved, this is usually what happens. Apparently its "girl code" where you can't date your friends ex boyfriend. I find that stupid really. and so do most people!
Leaving on good terms is a nice thing to do. Shows there's no hard feelings, so she should appreciate it however you do it. and if not, it goes to show how bitter and non forgiving/forgetting people can really be.
You could try sending her a card explaining everything and you're sorry things ended up this way. Do you have any photo's of you together? Send her that too so she will remember the good times you once shared if you do. Or perhaps an email..?
If you really wanted to, buy her something you know she will like.
But I'm sure she will also want you to leave without any bad feelings. So she should accept what you have to say.
Best of luck. and if you would like further advice, drop another in my inbox.
