? So.. I heard that Adam and Eve were the only ones there.. So they had sex and had two sons.
And.. ? How did we come from them, then?
One of the sons, did it with Eve?
Isn't that incest?
I thought incest was bad in the bible.

That's a very good question.
One thing's for sure : Adam and Eve had daughters as well (genesis 5:4).
It wasn't stated in the bible how Cain and Abel (their sons) reproduced, whether with Eve or with their sisters. But you're right in that they must've slept with someone related to them. At that time it was not called incest. They were required by God to "be fruitful and multiply". I can't remember when was the act of incest condemned, but it was stated in the bible.
Now incest connotes an act which is committed when you do it with a relative knowing that you actually have the OTHER OPTION of doing it with someone who's unrelated. Technically speaking they may seemed to have committed incest. But then again, Cain and Abel weren't given the option of mating with someone unrelated.
If the story of Adam and Eve was mythical, while some other parts true....
I mean...I don't see any sense in believing parts of the bible only. The bible is one whole entity and refusing to believe the story of Adam and Eve is equivalent to not beliveing their descendants' existence, which includes moses, noah, etc. It doesnt make any sense as well since WE come FROM Adam and Eve. It amounts to not believing in your own existence as well.
I'm a christian and so I believe the bible right down to the last alphabet.
P.S If anyone has any nasty comments to make, please don't. I'm open to differing opinions. Feel free to voice out any disagreements but don't get personal.
I hope I've answered your question. =) ]
If you take the story word for word then yes, technically incest must have taken place for the human race to come from only four people. However, the bible was written a long time ago by lots of different people, so obviously a lot of the stories aren't entirely true or accurate. A lot of people, including myself believe that the story of creation is a metaphor and didn't actually happen that way. It's all a matter of personal opinion and belief and is open to interpretation. ]
