Red-ish "down there" ????

Question Posted Friday October 20 2006, 7:23 pm

I'v been shaving, down there, for 5 years now, and I'v never really had razor burn, or cut myself, but two days ago I started noticing that I had a really painful, sensitive area on both sides of ..well I'm not really sure how to describe the area... I guess its sort of on either side, inbetween my vagina and anus (but closer to the outside (by my leg)) I took a mirror and checked it out, but it's just red.. For an insight to what it feels like.. it's like when you wear really tight clothes, and get lines of cut off circulation, and it's sensitive to touch, like the clothes almost cut you... thats what it feels like.
It can't be an std because i'v only had sex with one guy, my boyfriend, and we've been having sex for 3 years. If it's not razor burn or a cut, and it's not an std... what is it?! btw.. i'v had plenty of yeast infections to know it's not that. I should probably add, though, that I wore my new underwear I bought at target, the other day, without washing them first... I didn't think I needed to since they don't let people try on underwear anyway... maybe that could be it?
I'm not sure what this is, I hope it's just razor burn or a cut cuz it HURTS and thats what it feels like.. but of course I'v never felt this before so I can't be quite sure, i suppose.

*sorry this is so long*

it actually sounds like maybe you could have had an allergic reaction to something, whether it be your soap, shaving cream, toilet paper, or even the new underwear you bought. you can get new allergies at anytime.. without warning. try to eliminate things that touch that area so you can figure out what it is if it resembles a painful rash. also your underwear could've rubbed you the wrong way, and throughout the day girls get moist there and it could just be chafing from your panties. any other questions pertaining to health or sex topics.. drop one in my inbox! =]

i'm not quite sure what it is as i cant see it, you know?
but it is probally just razor burn, but you never know.
it could be from the underwear, or it could still be from your boyfriend even if you have been having sex before.
so go see a gyno (which is you are active you should be seeing anyway to make sure everything is in order) and find out
it could be just razor burn, or it could be more serious
i hope for razor burn for your sake, but hey, you never know. so get it checked out. better safe then sorry.

good luck! :)
