The average age is 16.
The majority of guys, especially if they are in their teens-20s (aka most hormonal) don't like girls who stay virgins. In fact, a lot of guys (unfortunately) think it's exciting to devirginize virgins. They see it as a challenge, they think "oh you just haven't met the RIGHT guy."
of course, there is a percentage of them that can respect that decision, especially if it is for religious reasons. This is not a fun reality, but it is true.
If you want to stay a virgin until you're married it's perfectly okay and there ARE guys who respect that, but they are unfortunately hard to find. Also know that there is absolutely no problem with waiting until you're READY which is different than waiting for when you are married. Just make sure you use protection because STDs and early pregnancies are, to put it lightly, not fun. (and of course you know this).
Doing what makes you happy is important. Don't let guys or ANYONE compromise that.

Keep in mind that teenage girls, by law, are not legally allowed to take part in sexual activities until they are 16 years of age. I personally think it is sad when anyone under that age decides to engage in sexual activities, their bodies are not fully developed, nor are they mature enough yet(although I did think differently when I was younger). The "whore" part of the question all depends. If a girl only sleeps with her boyfriend, she will not likely be seen as one that "sleeps around". Guys who do not respect girls who are saving their virginity for marriage are pigs, males that are worth your time won't care.

Honestly, if I had to pick a good age to loose your virginity, I would say about 19. Before then, sex is a completely needless complication in a relationship.
I respect someone who chooses to save themselves for marriage. I think it's a little silly and archaic and I wouldn't choose to date them, but I can respect the choice anyways. Make sure your values when it comes to sex are compatible with your partners. If one of you feels you should wait for marriage and the other thinks marriage is a broken old-fashion institution without any real meaning things will be very tough.

I think that as long as you are emotionally ready to have sex, then it's ok. But I mean, not like 12 or 13 year old kids. But no girl should have to feel like a "whore" after having sex.
And for what guys would think about staying a virgin until marriage... my boyfriend was totally supportive of me if that was my choice, .. it just really depends on the guy.. some guys will wait if they really like you, but some guys want it right now.. but if that's the case, it's better to have someone that is willing to wait on you.
