no he doesnt live here hes in college now. he says he thinks its best they think it is him because they would freak out if it was me just because i am the youngest ( of 5) and the only girl. they r sort of protective and strict so if they found out the truth it wouldnt be good especially since i lied about it for this long, they would definelty be more upset if it was me. i feel absolutly horrible about him getting in trouble for it and taking the blame but at this point i dont kno which would be better i dont kno if they would be more mad if they found out now or later

I'm guessing you're 16, since you said you just started driving. Maybe you could keep it a secret for another two years.... I understand why you feel bad that they're mad at him, but it was his idea to take the blame. Since you already told him that he was driving, I guess just stick with your story. If you feel the need to confess to them, I'm sure you'd feel a lot better at first, but later on when you want to drive etc, you won't be able to because you lied to them. Talk to your brother about how you feel and see what he thinks. Since you have to live with them, it may be better to let them think it was him driving. I could pose an arguement for why you should and why you shouldn't tell your parents, but in the end, you're going to have to live with it. Are you going to feel bad about lying to them and letting your brother take the blame? If it bothers you that much, then maybe you should tell them. At this point, what do you think you should do and what do you want to do? [ littleblufirefly's advice column | Ask littleblufirefly A Question ]
