writing the essay

Question Posted Monday October 16 2006, 8:59 am

Hey hi! I hope I'm not bothering you again. But I just wanna ask you something. You said that I should break it down chunk by chunk; write the thesis and outline first before filling in the quotes and proofs right?

So I was wondering, how do I come up with the thesis when I haven't sourced for my quotes yet?
By the way, a thesis is something like a your stand in a paragraph right?

Thanks so much!

Well, what I usually do is pick a topic, then research as much as I can on it, finding quotes along the way. Then, I sort my information into different theses. That way, I can pick whatever thesis has the strongest backup as the basis for my essay.

That's when I start the outline, and from there, writing the essay is easy.

A thesis is pretty much what you're trying to prove in your essay.
