Ha you're doing nothing wrong, you just might've not edited your AIM settings.

All you have to do is go to "MY AIM", "EDIT OPTIONS", and then "EDIT PREFERENCES". Then you just go to PRIVACY, and then you see the blocking part and the who can contact you boxes? Well, just look right under there, and the little title thing should say, "Allow users to see..." and then just check the box that says "...how long i've been idle" next to it, and then just click apply and then it should work.

I hope I helped.

I would say re-install it but I think they don't offer that aim anymore so just download aim 6 from aim.com and then it will go idle. Or go to download.com and search for aim 5.9 and you can download it from there.

You aren't doing anything wrong. All you have to do is fix your settings. Go to the top of your buddylist. Click "My Aim". Scroll down to "Edit Options". That will take you to "Edit Preferences". Under your categories, click "Privacy". There will be a heading called "Allow Users To See". Check the box under it that says "...how long I've been idle". At the bottom right, click "Apply" then "OK".
