it's not like i want to know because i smoke pot, i really dont; i was just wondering because someone was talking about it..
but what's the difference between a bong, bowl and pipe??

A bong is usually made of glass, but sometimes plastic. You fill the lower chamber with water (and sometimes ice).
A pipe is generally a smaller piece that is mostly shaped like a tobacco pipe. Pipes are usually glass or metal.
The bowl is the part of any smoking piece that holds the marijuana. For distinction, one would usually either "smoke a bowl" or "smoke a joint."

Bong: A water pipe or bong in which smoke is bubbled through a chamber containing water.
Bowl: The part of a device for smoking weed that holds the weed itself.
Pipe: A tube with a small bowl at one end.
