for the past about 3 years, i have bitten my nails. i am pretty much stopped, but now my nails are really weak and the skin on my thumbs is weird and i think thats from the biting. how do i make my nails stronger and what do i do about my skin?

MummuM answered Saturday September 23 2006, 9:52 pm: I used to have the same problem. I used to bite my nails 24/7. But I stopped a few years back. Your nails are going to be weak at first. They aren't used to being strong because they aren't used to being long. It make take awhile for them to get stronger, but as time goes on, they'll get stronger and stronger each day. I suggest getting some clear nail polish and painting your nails every so often. Also, I do believe there is nail polish out there to make weak nails stronger. lacrosse answered Saturday September 23 2006, 9:27 am: i think bitting your nails and stopping was very responsible of you and about making them stronger you can go buy nail polish and then a top coat and paint your nails. this way when you go to bite your nails they will taste like polish so then you wont want to bite them this should go on till you have broken your habbit
