Could someone tell me why they stopped making pontiac grand am's please?

the grand am was replaced by the G6. the pontiac grand am was a midsize sedan/coupe. the G6 is the same thing just in a new body with new packaging. the grand prix is in the process of being redone as well. they're going to keep the grand prix name but give it a 300 horsepower V8 and make it rear wheel drive again. it's going to be a rebadged holden commodore which is a car made by GM's holden branch in australia.

So they could focus on the newer models, like the G6 or the Vibe. Most times, car companies like to be exclusive when it comes to their vehicles.
