Look at thier ratings. if they're low then i'd get it on amazon. if not it might be the reserve price thing or you could just get lucky with the buy. but be sure to look at the quality (which it should say) and any garantuees. babiigirl answered Monday September 18 2006, 11:53 pm: yes like the people low said you really really have to watch who you are bidding and buying from on ebay. Look at there rate percentage anything higer then 98% is usually alritght but read the negative feedback. Like if the feedback said never got the item or damaged condition when recieved. that would be a sign to not bid on that persons merchandise. Usually when something starts out as .01 theres either something wrong with it or its just what the seller wanted it as. And usually the .01 cent is starting bid not buy me now. Also People on ebay are stupid. Like the book that sold for $60 at a book store someone would bid to $100 for it on ebay. Just read the the sellers feedback and the entire description on the product. uisforukelele answered Monday September 18 2006, 11:25 pm: a lot of people who say that about ebay... actually don't use ebay and wouldn't know. yes, the starting bid may be $.01, but people may bid on that book until it gets to $75 dollars. you never know. there's not a trick, you just have to be a smart buyer. always read the whole description of the item, and if you have questions, email the seller. also, check out the seller's feedback... if they have any negative feedback within the past 3 months i wouldn't use them. there's not a special trick to ebay, you just have to be smart about it and know how to spot a scam (which doesn't happen often, mind you, like people say... because once again, people that says things like that don't actually use ebay and wouldn't know). i would go to ebay and search for the book and look for auctions that are just about to end. see what the prices are on those. keep shipping/handling charges in mind, too. that should give you a better estimate of what you want to do. Music4RETARDS answered Monday September 18 2006, 11:11 pm: Make sure you read the whole, and i mean whole, description of the book. Another thing you must look at is the sellers feedback, if it is less than 96% i wouldnt reccomend using them.
Now there are many reasons why the cost is .01$. The first is maybe the bids will keep rising and it will eventually be the 60$. The second is the shipping could be a very high amount. And third, the book may not be in the best condition or it may be unpopular.
