Question Posted Saturday September 16 2006, 5:14 pm
There's this girl... and she bothers me... all the time. She trips me in the hallway, and swears at me and stuff. It's getting really old and I'm kinda tired of it. Last year at my middle school (I'm a frosh at high school this year), she bothered me so i went to the school guidnace counsler. Instead of this girl getting in trouble, I did for no reason. This girl was his daughters friend so he didn't do anything about, which really sucked. I really hate her picking on me and her calling me an an ugly bitch and stuff like that. Actually, it's just embarrasing for kids to make fun of you when ur 14. I'm just not sure what 2 do...

Plus I went to a small school and there were teachers that had kids in my class. Of course these kids thought they were so much better and could do no wrong!
The way I got past it was to ignore them or laugh at their jokes no matter how embarassing, and eventually they gave up on me. I was no fun to pick on, see? Bullies get their rocks off on getting under your skin.
One of the worst things I found was to go to the pricipal etc, because it made things worse. And that sucks considering that is their job! Especially the guidence counseler. It is sad, but it is true.
However, it is hard to ignore being tripped. That is a physical assault. You shouldn't have to deal with being assaulted by ANYONE. Assault is a crime. I got the following peice on bully assault from this website :
"Assault and theft are always against the law. So if a bully physically attacks you or steals something from you, you can report this to the police."
I don't know that violence will solve the problem, so I won't advise you to learn self defence tecniques, but I have come across this website where you can chat with other teens who are being or have been bullied. Maybe you can get some good advice on how to cope with bullying.
Just scroll down to the teen section and click on "chat sessions."
I know I probably wasn't a great deal of help, but maybe your peers or these websites can be. Just please - NEVER PUT UP WITH SOMEONE ASSAULTING YOU! [ Brandi_S's advice column | Ask Brandi_S A Question ]
