What does it mean when someone "takes you for granted"?
I've had a friend say that to me.

I guess it's kinda like not appreciating them,kinda like using them, likee if your friend just got a car and you called her a lot and wanted to do stuff, it would be taking her for granted.

If someone is taking someone for granted they are not fully appreciating them or expecting them to always be there or do something. For example; if you parents told you that you were taking them for granted regarding cleaning your room then they would mean that you always expect them to do it without considering their opinion or not noticing.

it means that they assume you'll always be a certin way no matter what or start to not appriate things you do like when your good to them or when you do stuff for them. they just assume you'd do it with out even asking or saying thankyou. it's just when they don't appriate you or the things you do for them.

To taks something for granted means that you underestimate the value of something or anything you assume will be their no matter what happens. If you take friendship for granted it means that you used it and treated it as if the other person would be their no matter what you did or said to them.

someone doesnt appericiate you for everything you are until your gone then you took them for granted cause you never know hwat you got til its gone :)
