For example; if you parents told you that you were taking them for granted regarding cleaning your room then they would mean that you always expect them to do it without considering their opinion or not noticing. bigboy13 answered Tuesday August 29 2006, 3:34 am: it means that they assume you'll always be a certin way no matter what or start to not appriate things you do like when your good to them or when you do stuff for them. they just assume you'd do it with out even asking or saying thankyou. it's just when they don't appriate you or the things you do for them.

If you take friendship for granted it means that you used it and treated it as if the other person would be their no matter what you did or said to them.
