i googled both of these brands & let me tell ya, they looked exactly the same. i think the LG 5000 is the older version & the LG AX5000 has some new features, but it depends on the carrier. go to whoever your company is [verizon, cingular, tmobile, sprint, etc.] & you can find out the difference there.
