Ear piercing adivce

Question Posted Friday August 25 2006, 7:58 am

Hi every1

i got my ears pierced in march this year (ear lobes)! I waited the 6weeks and then took them out! I also used the antiseptic spray morning and night for the 6weeks as recomended!
Now however if i leave earings out for longer than about 1/2 hour the back starts to close up!!! This has caused real problems with PE lessons at skl as i still have to put tape over them after all this time!! I look really pathetic and stupid!!!
What can i do to stop them closing up????? Please help me! I have to sleep, shower and even swim with them in because they close so quickly!!
It's a NIGHTMARE!!!
Please help me!!!!
Thanks a lot guys, really appriciate any advice on what i should do!!

Please send replies to horsegirl1919@hotmail.com

Thanks

just because they say they should be healed after 6 weeks, doesn't mean you can take them out for a long time. that means you can switch to a different ear ring.... i've haad my nose pierced for a long time, almost two years, but when i take my nose ring out for like a day, it's very hard to get the nose ring back in. [it depends on a persons normal healing time] so you can buy clear retainer ear rings. they make them for every piercing && work wonderful ;; you don't have to take them out to swim, shower, or sleep. show them off everywhere you go!! && the whole tape thing? who cares! you're just taking care of your piercing.

Yeah, they say you can take them out after six weeks, but not totally out. They mean to switch them with hoops or some other earring. The back doesnt close up, a crust just forms because there new holes. I know, gross, but thats what it is. I've had to tape my ears for sports, its not biggy, the result will be of your ears looking awesome later when there all healed. Why would you think you look pathetic? Your just trying to take care of your ears. Deffinitly keep on cleaning your ears. Keep teh earrings in as much as you can. If you can, try to get post earrings and wear those to bed.

Hope I helped.

Happy Summer :)

thats what still even happens to me sometimes and i have had my cartilige pierced for over a year. the only thing you can do to fix the problem is wear your earings longer. You aren't supose to leave them out for any amount of time for usually six monthes. Also you could try dental floss. I had a friend do that instead of taping it. She just make a detal floss loop
