eyeliner

Question Posted Monday August 21 2006, 9:12 pm

this might seem weird, but i have a question about where to put eyeliner. is it better to put your eyeliner on the inside rim of your eye (like that little line of skin right before your eyeball?), or just before your eyelashes?

thanks!

I was wondering the exact same thing before, and the last time I had an eye appointment I asked my eye doctor if putting it on the rim of your eye is okay. She said it was okay, as long as you don't put the eyeliner too close to your tear duct thing (the really small hole near the inner corner of your eye.) You just need to be careful. It's safer to put it just before your eyelashes, but to do that, you need to do it right so it doesn't turn out messy. i personally have been putting eyeliner on the rim of my eye for like 4 years now and haven't got an eye infection so that's how i'm going to keep doing it. But, if you have sensitive eyes, try putting it just before your eyelashes (to do this, I recommend a liquid eyeliner.) It's a little harder, but all you need to do is practice it. So yeah, it's easier and, in my opinion, looks better to put it on the rim of your eye, but safer to put it just before your eyelashes. =)

well i personally dont know, but i hear both ways all around. some people say putting it on the inside rim of your eye is bad, because your eyelashes are to keep things out of your eyes, and it could get inside your eye and cause an infection so you put them right where the eyelash line is. Some people say putting it just before your lashes looks just bad, so they put it on the inside rim. So i put my eyeliner right where the eyelash line is, just a little tiny bit before that is alright.

I hope I helped!
