Question Posted Sunday August 20 2006, 8:14 pm

Are there any other people to go see about possibly having depression besides a family doctor? There is a psycologist at my university and I thought maybe she could help but I don't really know if she could diagnose me as possibly having it or able to help? I'm really embaressed to talk to anyone about this so I want it to be private and I don't know who to go to.

Your best bet is to see a psychatrist. A psychologist may be able to help diagnose, but a psychatrist is someone who is more certified for discussing issues. Atleast you'll know your sessions are completely confedential. & they'd know more about how to treat it & could prescribe you any anti-depressants if they were needed. I couldn't tell you how to find a psychatrist to go to - I'm guessing I'd look in your area, phone book, or online.
