running Is running really some kinda of mind game too?
I mean like, if you tell yourself YOU CAN DO IT, can you really ? Even when you feel like quitting and like your body and legs are going to give way?
This may be a stupid question
but i'm preparing for school to start,
and how emarassed i'm going to be if
i finish last in a half mile run thing.
I mean I've never finished last before,
but I get so nervous about things like this.

Just seriously don't think about it. Pick someone to keep pace with, and don't stop. If you stop, you won't want to start up again. So don't stop, just think about other things and focus on regulating your breathing. You won't finish last. Besides...a half mile really isn't that far. A mile is difficult, but a half mile, you should be fine. ]
If you just tell yourself you can do it, then you can.
Don't stop running, it will be harder to start running again.
Keep a steady pace and don't sprint the first lap.

Kinda if you say it that way. You can do & finish anything if you put your mind to it. yea you may be in pain but think to yourself when your running. I can't be last or Someone might say someting. ( usually no one will say anything )
When i run the mile In school i run with a friend. Someone that can run at a good pace. And you tell your friend don't let me stop. And trust me if you tell someone not to let you stop they probly wont. If you have to run by yourself Keep a Steady past. Like run slower in the begginng then sprint the last lap.
I know when i stop running i feel like im going to fall over. So i try to run the entire thing.
