Swim season is coming up meaning that my hair color is going to turn to gross since I died it like a month ago. Does anybody have any tips on how to wash hair color out either gradually or all at once without drying your hair out too much? Thanks.
Notso answered Tuesday August 8 2006, 7:44 pm: your colour doesn't have to fade because of swimming. Use a swimmers shampoo to protect your hair from the chlorine. John Frieda has a beach blonde line that you can use that isn't just for blonde hair. I believe their is an oil, or something similar you can put on your hair before going in the sun to avoid that kind of damage. I'm sure other brands have similar products.
If you try and strip your hair of the colour (assuming you went darker), it's going to end up brittle and dry. Even if you do go to a salon. There is a colour fader that you mix with peroxide- should be in the hair dye aisle- and it will lighten the colour. But it's not a drastic difference, and it's still not to great for your hair.
