Holiday Hair

Question Posted Tuesday August 8 2006, 9:17 am

f/uk
I have shortish, frizzy, curly hair which I normally straighten. However, I am shortly going on holiday and would like to avoid the 'frizzball' effect after being in a pool.
Does anyone have any tips on products that will calm my hair and make it look presentable until I go back to my room and can shower it out? Preferably products I can buy in the UK. Thanks to all.

Hey there,

I live in the UK and have exactly the same problem with my hair. It goes frizzy and curly and just looks terrible after it gets wet.

However, there are two combinations I managed to work out which helped tame my hair.

Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum, which should go straight into your hair while it is still wet. Use a generous amount if you have a lot of hair and smooth it evenly through. I would also recommend that you comb your hair (DON'T use a brush as this will make it frizz more). Dry your hair a little with a hair dryer on a medium setting, while always keep it pointind down your hair. When it is still a bit damp, use Frizz Ease Relaxing Cream, which will help to tame any stray curls. Then either continue to dry with a hair dryer or allow to dry naturally.

The other combination I have taken to using since abandoning my beloved GHD's is as follows: Slightly dry uncombed hair until still dripping lightly but no longer soaking wet. Comb through gently and add a generous amount of Wella Curls Firm Hold Mousse. I apply a bit to the crown of my head and then separate two two sides and back and apply a reasonable amount of mousse to each section. After this, I comb through again very gently and blow dry on a medium heat, again with the nozzle pointing downwards at all times. Finally, while my hair is still retaining some of the heat, I smooth a little Sunsilk Kinks and Frizz Leave In Conditioner (the purple bottle). If you have curly hair and would like to keep them frizz free curls, there is a curls Leave In Conditioner which should also help (the green one).

One last thing, it comes strongly recommended from many that you do a cold blast of water after washing your hair, as this can also help to reduce frizz.

I hope that helps!

First of all, never use gels and such from the stores. It will damage you hair in a second. Using a lot of products on your hair could make it worse and can damage it perminately. I don't think using products will help since you'll be getting into the water and it would just wash off. Shampoos and conditioners take a while to take effect and even then it may not help.

The best suggestion I can give to you is to just tie it back into a cute pony tail[s] and clip the remaining hair back. And when you get out of the pool, put on a hat or something like that. It'll shrink the frizz for a while until you get back to the hotel and it will protect your face from the hamrful rays =]

Holiday Hair -
my hair is longish, frizzy, and curly. but i think i can still help. unfortunately i don`t know what is sold in the UK, but i use stuff called "elucence". [ shampoo && conditioner ]. If not that, then try sunsilk, or garnier fructis. If none of those are available in the UK - then i would recommened google-ing it, and getting some info from there. <3

Hope that`s helpful
