14/f. okay so i've been seeing all of these people suggesting people to use proactiv and that it really works. well i've always considered it and my mom said that if all else fails she'll order it for me. but if i use proactiv and it works, then won't i just have to keep ording it for years and years? because if i stop using it won't my acne come back? i've never had REALLY bad acne, but its enough to be annoying and noticable.
is proactiv worth it?
if i stop using it will my acne come back?
and how long do i have to use it until i can safely stop?
Family_Guy answered Thursday August 3 2006, 4:56 am: Not too sure about proactive, but if you've got it pretty bad, then you should see a dermatologist and request accutane, if you do, I sure hope you have insurance. It's expensive, but it works, and it'll get rid of it for the rest of your life. I've used it myself, and my brother has too, after a few weeks it was pretty much gone and will never come back. It may make an appearance when i'm 50, but if that happens, i'm free to get it again. Or whatever magical medical advanced had by then. [ Family_Guy's advice column | Ask Family_Guy A Question ]
sheerblonde1022 answered Thursday August 3 2006, 4:36 am: okay, i highly doubt all of these people use proactiv. proactiv DOES NOT work for everybody. actually, it rarely works for teens going through "the acne stages". it is mainly recommended for older teens, and adults because it dosent stop your body's oil production. (my dermatolgist said.) Proactiv made the little bumps on my face worse. and my friend Claire tried and it and her face became worse until after 3 weeks, and everything cleared up, and she does have to keep reordering it. I would recommended Dermalogica, you can get it at The Beauty Shop, and you can also buy it from Dermagtolgists. [ sheerblonde1022's advice column | Ask sheerblonde1022 A Question ]
saleeha answered Thursday August 3 2006, 1:15 am: i use proactiv and it works. but u dun need to use it forever. once the acne is cleared up all you need to do is wash your face with warm water and soap twice a day to prevent acne from coming back. and once in a while get a facial too. NineLives answered Thursday August 3 2006, 1:11 am: I have quite a few friends who use/have used proactiv. Some like it, some dont. & you wont need to use it forever... but you will need to use/order it during teen years because thats when acne is at its worst. It's kind of a 50/50 for me on proactiv. & you kno you can always just stop ordering it & switch to something else! hope i helped ^-^
Altruistic answered Thursday August 3 2006, 1:02 am: well, after a while your acne fades away. I think it has to do with age. Because i got acne when i was 14 and it slowly vanished after two years. Proactive is pretty good, so i would say yes it's worth it. If you stop using it right after you bought it, then your acne will come back. But if you use it continually for several months, your acne should stop... it depends on your skin. but i would say proactive is definitely worth it. xo_minela answered Thursday August 3 2006, 12:43 am: Well I`ve heard my friends talk about proactiv , and they said it dosen`t really work that well it depends what kind of skin you have for some people it works for some it dosent , I think you should just try this one cream my friend uses it`s called "wet n wild fresh face skincare acne , she said it works really well. & I`ve heard from alot of other people it works well , so I think you should try it out , & I`ve heard nutergena face wash is good too. So try both of those products. & if they do not work out then get proactiv. Maybe it`s worth a try! You should probably use proactiv for 3 or 2 years after stopping , it depends at what age you are. Usually it won`t come back , but it could. Hope it works out. & Good Luck! ♥ =] [ xo_minela's advice column | Ask xo_minela A Question ]
