My family/parents

Question Posted Tuesday August 1 2006, 9:49 am

Hi well... I go to my friends houses a lot during the weekends! Or a couple days at a time! But when I get back my parents are all over me! Like... why did I call them call them, did I miss them?? Its not that I didn't miss them! I was having so much fun!!! There was no time to to miss them! And the calling them on the phone thing... when i leave I ask them if they want me to call them! The go no thats ok only call if its an emergency! So do they expect a emergency every time I go to a friends?? Its not like i'm in elementary anymore! I don't need to call them to say good night!! How the heck should I handel this?? Its so annoying!!!

Age 13

Tell your parents that you are 13 and you think you are a responsible person. If your parents ask you if you missed them, were you gone for a long time? sometimes parents often ask that question because they are worried about their kids and just want them to be safe. Tell them there is nothing to be worried about, and you can tell them what you are doing at your friends house. That will probably keep them detailed and might stop asking you if you missed them or why you called them. The reason why they say "call for an emergency" is because they just want you to be safe, and if there ever is an emergency, they want to be the 1st people to help.

I hope I helped with your conflict!
