too soon for love?
My boyfriend & I have been together for several months now. He has recently told me he loves me. Since then, I've felt weird. I'm not sure what love even is! I care about him alot and I can't picture my life without him, but how do you know when you truly love someone? I've tried saying it to him, but the words never come out. I don't know if I'm scared of giving him that part of me he could break or if I really don't love him. How do I determine from the two?

Well you're the only one who can tell whether it's love or not. If in your heart, you think it's love, then it is. If you're not sure...then it's probably not quite there yet. Dont rush it. Just be honest with him even if that means you have to tell him that you think love may be developing but it's just not there yet. He will understand. You might be scared too though. But that's a big part of relationship...in order to love him, you have to trust him. You have to trust him that he wont break your heart or use love against you. Love is a strong word. If he has said it to you, dont be scared, just take it in and wait to find out if you love him back.

I think that you loved him you would know it in your heart. But that doesnt mean that you dont like him. Real love is a develpment over time. You might just have a longer time to fal in love than he does..tell him how you feel and if he loves you then he will understand.

relationships are full of risks you have to take to have a better, if not good, relationship. love can't be explained. it's a feeling. you shouldn't say i love you back to him if you don't mean it. there's nothing worse than words with no meaning, especially that certain one.

If you love him (and it sounds like you do) you should think of a really great way to tell him. LIke in a letter or something. If theres one thing thats bad for a relationship, its not telling each other exactly how you feel. I have almost been dumped by my current girlfriend because I hesitated to tell her I loved her.
Just like with her, i'm sure that you know you love your boyfriend, and all it takes is a leap of faith to get the words out.
