Calorie Help?

Question Posted Thursday July 20 2006, 5:49 pm

I've done searching on google, but I can't find out how many calories I should be eating, each time I eat. I'm a 13 year old female, and I weigh around 115, (last time I checked) I'm not fat, nor skinny. I want to prevent any further "chubbyness" so I would like to eat better. But how many calories should I be eating at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and for snacks?
Any correct information, or links to sites that can help me is appreciated. =]

Check out this site: <a href="[Link](Mouse over link to see full location);

It asks for your age, height, weight, activity level, and gender. Then it calculates how many calories you burn on a daily basis. To maintain your weight you need to consume roughly the same amount of calories as you burn. (Ergo - to lose weight you need to consume less, and to gain weight, you need to consume more.)

Weight loss/gain is not an exact science. Everyone's body is different. On days that you are more active, you will need to consume more calories, and less calories for less active days. I would say as long as you are burning the same amount of calories as you eat for the entire week there shouldn't be a flucuation in your weight. (Don't freak out if you go over one day, you can just work-out extra or eat less the next day.) The forementioned website should be able to give you a rough idea of how many calories you need for the day, and then you can decide how many to spend on each meal.

Hope that's helpful!

you might want to try [Link](Mouse over link to see full location). they have all sorts of stuff there, all you enter is your age, height, and weight and it pretty much tells you how much you should be consuming and how much you should burn. it also says what activities burn however many calories. it's handy. :)
