She has been a heavy smoker for many years now, and they wern't here three monthes ago when she went for her check up.
I was wondering, what could cause this?
Like, what is it a symptom of.
Please please please answer.
My dad died when I was young, my mom is blind, and I can't stand the thought of something else happening to my mom.

Oral Surgeon? I'm going to one in a week. They're going to kinda pull my teeth. So with an oral surgeon, I'm sure it's not bad. Sorry about your past.

Well it does depend what the doctor did say to her, I can imagine that if it was anything serious he would have sent her to another doctor right away. It could range anywhere between an swollen taste bud to cancer. My boyfriend used to do chewing tabacco and the dentist ended up finding a white spot on the inside of his gum that was cancerous and had to be removed. But don't be worried, I'm no doctor. Just suggest that she visits a doctor soon to get it further examined to make sure its nothing. Good Luck

It could be a variety of things, it also could be nothing. What did the dentist say? Has he recommended she go to the doctor? It could be something as simple as burning her tongue.

Don't panic, if you or she is really worried then visit your gp and see what they have to say.

Hope this helped.
