Your tongue may be swolen up to 10 days; but then you should be able to get on with your life. Here is a website that will help you fantastically with your piercing.

It was very diffucult for me to eat the food I am used to with a swollen tounge. My advice to you? Go buy some chicken noodle soup, or some other kind. It's easier to eat that stuff and take a Tylenol every 4-6 hours. It helps ALOT at reducing swelling and or any pain you might have from the piercing.
