High School the Big change
I am 14 years old and wondering if you could give me any advice on high school and how it will change from jr high school to high school

Hey so I am assuming you are going to be a freshman this year? Thats awesome..this is an exciting time in your life! In Jr High there are some differences and changes you go through in high school
SOCIAL ASPECT: a lot of people arent that social. They have their classmates they talk with but a lot of times kids in jr high keep to themselves and dont hang out with others outside of school. In high school social life really comes alive. you will meet new people and as you get older you will earn privilages to be able to go out with friends..even friends who drive if your parents depend on it, movie nights,parties,sleepovers,bonfires..all those kinds of social events really kick in when you are in high school. im not saying thats the case for everyone. a lot of times kids in jr high are just as social as those in high school.
SCHOOL: Obviosly you are getting into the higher grades so depending on what courses you choose to take, you could be looking at a lottt of work..especially if you are in honors classes. as you get into 11th and 12th grade you will be worrying about SATs and college applications. In high school kids try and think about what they are good at and what they would like to do with their life (if your not sure dont worry! i am going to be a senior and i am not sure!)
I dont know what kind of school you go to..but usually high school is a lot biggger tha middle school..and you will definately be hearing and seeing thins you would not hear or see in middle school. you will face more pressures with drugs,sex,and drinking.. (dont get too scared about that though..just stay with the good crowd)
Other than that, they are alike in many ways. I am sure you have had your share of middle school drama. well the drama continues in high school. usually relationships are more serious in high school than in middle school. new doors open up to you : good and bad. you are surrounded by new freedoms and choices. hopefully you will make good choices and make your high school career fun in the social department and beneficial in the education aspect of it.
have an awesome time in high school..because wow it really does go by wayy to quick. i remember being a freshman like it was yesterday. seriously..have an awesome time because these are the best years of your life :)
