Question Posted Thursday July 13 2006, 4:25 pm

When I go back to school I want to be changed. I have good looks, but I have very low self esteem. My last year has been very rough dealing with my friends starting drugs, sucky boyfriends, and just family/money problems.

I want to come back this year with confidence and a happier personality. I don't have alot of friends because we've all just gone our own way. How can I reevaluate myself and be proud of what I have, and act and be more fun to be around? Thanks.

The trick here is, you are in control. You have the power to portray yourself in any light you want. If your looking to make get in with the crowd here are a few tips:

Be outgoing, talk to people. You go to them, they dont come to you. If your always expecting people to seek you out, you are gonna end up alone. the same thing that is going through your head, goes through everyone's head at some point. I know I had the same concern. If you are a girl, of course flaunting your stuff and dressing "nice" would help you out. Talk to guys, they wont' expect it and they'll actually feel honored. Think about it, guys normally approach girls, you could really set things going if you were the aggressor. Good luck.

PS: think about the things that make you great.

Be yourself. I remember in 6 grade one of my techers played some MJ and well, I couldn't sit there. I stood up, walked to the middle of the class and started dancing. It was histerical-the entire room of classes crowded around me(we had like 3 classes in each room) and I even got some of my friends to join in. I made a good amount of friends that day because I was just myself. I know your probably older but just be yourself, don't be afraid to do something even if someone else isn't. Plus, the good looks will help u a lot. =) anyway, I'm sure you'll make some new friends and You'll do fine. I'm guessing your somewhere in high school if your friends do drugs, I was in middle school but then again I got forced going to school in the ghetto =p so don't do them, they will lower your self esteem and eventually kill you. Have fun that's always the best thing to do.
