1] The best time to go running is probably early morning, so you can get yourself ready for the day. Bring your Ipod/MP3/CD Player with you and download upbeat songs.
2] You can work on your abs by doing crunches, and situps. There's also this technique called 'bicycling', and you lay down in normal crunch/sit up position, then you put your legs up in the air at a 45 degree angle, and start pedaling your legs like you would on a bicycle.
3] Pineapples are good for you.

Going a day without eating isn't good for you. If you go without food for one or two weeks, your body isn't used to that, so you can end up gaining more in the end when you suddenly start eating again.

Go to calorie-count.com, and sign up for an account. Track what you eat. When you sign up, you'll have customizable options that fit you. Let's say that I am 5'5, and I'm 128 pounds and want to be 126, [I'm not, just using this as an example]. My calorie-count.com log says that I should eat about 1200 calories a day to achieve my goal. On calorie-count, you can see what 'nutrional grade' the item of food gets, and the pros and cons of the food item. It's really helpful and gets you aware of eating healthy.

For example, I used to eat Lunchables every day when I didn't have enough time to fix something for lunch. Lunchables has close to 500 calories, and 7 grams of saturated fat, when you're only supposed to have 180 calories and 2 grams of saturated fat. See the difference? On the other hand, I eat Lean Cuisine instead of those crappy Lunchables. The food is much more delicious, and has a lot of protein in it.

Just take the initiative and work towards your goal. Don't get discouraged. It will work out only if you stick to your routine and get motivated.

ALSO, FOR MOTIVATION --

Go to myfooddiary.com/charles and read a story about a man named Charles who used to weigh a lot until he took the initiative to lose weight by keeping an online food log.

Hope I helped!
