Rundll 32 Deleted

Question Posted Tuesday July 11 2006, 4:31 pm

I run windows 98SE, and yesterday I deleted the file "Rundll32.exe" by mistake thinking it was a virus. It came up on my virus program. Now I can't access my control pannel, add/remove programs, calendar, etc. It's really upsetting me because I didn't really mean to delete it, and I don't want to pay to get it back on my computer. Thanks for any help<33

First check the recycle bin. Next, (dont hold me to this) run your restore disk. You should be able to restore just the files you need. If all else fails look up that executable on the internet and download it.
You could also restore the computer to before you deleted it (runing safemode).

You could also back up all your files and reinstall windows. If you do, I recommend a disk partician and then install windows on drive C and everything else on the other drives your made by the partician.

The best thing you can do is to reinstall windows. Save and make backup copies of all the files you can access on youre computer that you want to keep.

Then yo'ull need to reinstall windows or whatever youre provider is.. Youll just need 2 reboot then when its all back up adn runnin install all the things you had before from the disks youve saved things on
