ipod plugs in computer shuts off

Question Posted Friday July 7 2006, 10:10 pm

Everytime I plug my ipod into my computer, the computer shuts off, and it wont come back on. It's starting to get really annoying and now I can't charge my ipod anymore so now I can't listen to it. I just got the computer back from being fixed and I'm too scared to try to plug the ipod back in. I asked the computer guy what was up with it and he said it was because the ipod has so much power and stuff but he didn't really tell me what I could do. Please help me!

it may be the ipod
or the computer.
first call a smart computer guy and have him coem to your house and check it out
and if there is nothing he can do
then go to the apple store.
they may just give you a new ipod
:]

Uhm well I would call that computer guy & ask if it was okay to try to charge your iPod. If your too afraid to try it on your computer. Maybe one of your friends who has an iPod could let you charge it at their house every once in a while. or when you hang out with them. Good luck =)

If it's a laptop, you're not supposed to plug it in. Otherwise, try your ipod on another computer (if it's the only computer in your house, go to a friend's house) and see if the problem is with the ipod or with the computer. If it's the ipod, go to the Apple store and ask for help; if it's the computer, go back to the computer guy and ask him what to do. In the meantime, if you want to charge it, most ipod speakers charge- if you don't want to buy it a lot of people have them.
