I am learning how to play the guitar. I go to sites such as ultimate guitar to find chords, but there are also tabs there, and I dont understnad them. If anyone could explain them to me it would help me a lot.
Additional info, added Monday July 3 2006, 6:26 pm: it would help if you could explain this one for example, its the tabs for everywhere by michelle branch:

Aeries answered Monday July 3 2006, 6:02 pm: well usually there are 6 strings on your guitar right?
well the strings on the tab usually read
E << thinnest
B
G
D
A
E << thickest
if there is a '0' on a certain string it means that that string is played open (no strings pressed down)
same as if there was a '3' it means that on that string it is played on that number fret on the fret board (the third fret)
so if you saw this
E 0
B 1
G 0
D 2
A 3
E 0
then that is a C chord
i hope i helped in any way other than confuse u more haha
good luck n hav fun guitar is ACE once you get into it
