im 13/f
whenever i go out in the sun and its like too hot or i run a lot or when i like get embarrassed my face starts turnin red its not becuz of sunburn and when i go inside and turn on the cooler my face turns normal again. Can u guys tell me what i can do so my face wont turn red like a cherry?
the reason why you guys naturally turn red at the poool is because of the humidity. its just your faces way of reacting to being hot. so, a good way to prevent this is always bring a water bottle. if you keep yourself hydrated, the redness will either not occur at all, or just happen a little bit.

I've come to realize that its because I don't get enough water during the game, but that's because the coach keeps me in most of the game. So since you said that you run a lot and it gets red, maybe you want to try either drinking lots of water, or finding a way to cool off (ex. go swimming, water balloon fight, water slide, etc.) Good luck and I hope I helped =] [ rainxindoors's advice column | Ask rainxindoors A Question ]
cheburashka answered Saturday July 1 2006, 12:54 am: you listed three completely different situations, but they all happen for the same reason - your blood vessels just work that way. some people get a little pink in those situations, some don't have blood flow to their face at all, and others are like you and turn "red like a cherry." it's just your phenotype, there isn't much you can do about it. only thing i can suggest is learning to control your body better through yoga, but that takes many years of practice... so unless you want to become a hardcore yogini, your only option is getting a tan or wearing tan make-up to lighten the effects a little.

i just casually asked my parents about it, and my dad said he read a book on acupuncture, and apparently if you want to stop yourself from blushing or having a fast heartbeat, you have to press hard with your nail (use your left thumb) at the inside top part of your right pinky. he says it really works (trust me, he's the kind of person who would have to use it a lot). i hope that's not too confusing. if you want to learn more, check out a book on acupuncture at your library. glad to help(if i did lol)
take care and good luck [ brkln_chick09's advice column | Ask brkln_chick09 A Question ]
