lay flat on any surface. i usually use my bed because the ground is hard but you can try that if ya want. put your legs straight up in the air while you're laying on your back. then do regular crunches & make sure your shoulder blades are off the floor before you do another. if it hurts in any way, then try regular crunches.

Also, swimming and jogging are excellent ways of toning your overall body. Be sure you are also safely dieting (eating more fruits and whole grains rather than junk food). Get lots of sleep and drink lots of water, in addition, so that you have the energy to exercise.
